Date:

When Casey McQuillen sings, audiences listen. The London-based singer-songwriter’s confidence, authenticity, and talent have placed her in front of various crowds, who have noticed that the songs she sings have meaning. Whether she is drawing in millions of views and streams on social media or performing in front of thousands of students across the U.S., U.K., and Ireland (as she did for her anti-bullying concert series), she helps people feel connected. She has also connected with other artists herself, opening for icons like James Morrison, Beverley Knight, and Eric Hutchinson. Currently, Casey is opening for pop artist Anastacia, playing sold-out arenas on the ‘#NTK25 Tour.’ Here, she has been performing her new single “Better Than This,” which encourages fans to go after their dreams.

On “Better Than This,” Casey McQuillen recounts moving to London to pursue her music career. While it might have seemed like a wild idea at the time, Casey knew that she needed to do this in order to live the life she had always wanted. The guitar accompaniment is gentle yet eager as Casey sings, “I’ve spent my whole life / Dreaming I’d find a better place” and “I think that I can do it / So, I’ve gotta try / I’ve only got one life / And I’m leaving tonight.” The track then explodes into a pop-rock anthem with dynamic choruses and with Casey screaming how she feels about finally leaving it all behind.

About “Better Than This,” Casey tells us,

“‘Better Than This’ was born from a leap of faith—crossing the ocean to chase a lifelong dream in Europe. Over the past few months, I’ve had the surreal experience of performing it live to sold-out arena crowds across the continent, opening for Eurovision winner Loreen and pop legend Anastacia. Every night, this song has been my anthem of hope, resilience, and ambition. As I step into this new chapter, I truly believe ‘Better Than This’ can be the prophecy it was written to be—the moment where the dream finally meets reality.”

You can listen to “Better Than This” on platforms like Apple Music, Spotify, and SoundCloud.
