Lizzo sets the stage for ‘Love In Real Life’ with show-stopping SNL performance

Date:

Lizzo is officially stepping into her next chapter—and it’s all love.

The 4x GRAMMY® Award and Emmy-winning, RIAA multi-platinum certified icon is gearing up for the release of one of 2025’s most anticipated albums: Love In Real Life. The forthcoming LP marks her fifth full-length release, and if the early teasers are any indication, it’s going to be her most personal and powerful project to date.

To kick off this exciting era, Lizzo returned to the Saturday Night Live stage for the fourth time on April 12th, debuting an unreleased track titled “Don’t Make Me Love You”—a moody, emotionally raw ballad that instantly had fans hooked. The performance introduced a deeper, more vulnerable Lizzo while still channeling her signature confidence and vocal power.

She also performed “Love In Real Life” and “Still Bad,” giving fans a taste of what’s to come from the new album. The blend of self-love, emotional honesty, and empowered energy is quickly becoming the defining sound of this next Lizzo era.

But her SNL appearance is just one part of a full-scale rollout. In February, Lizzo set social media ablaze by sharing a flute-soundtracked teaser trailer for Love In Real Life, bidding farewell to her Special era in a viral post. Rolling Stones called it the start of a “new era,” while Billboard hyped it with a simple truth: “It’s about damn time for some new Lizzo music.”

Beyond the music, Lizzo is making sure fans feel connected every step of the way. She recently played three intimate shows at iconic venues The Wiltern (L.A.), Irving Plaza (NYC), and First Avenue (Minneapolis), giving lucky fans an early look at what she’s been working on. Each show captured the spirit of Love In Real Life: real moments, real joy, real connection.

To top it off, she’s also celebrating three years of her shapewear brand Yitty, appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers in custom Yitty and chatting with Jay Shetty on On Purpose about love, growth, and everything this new era represents.

With no official release date yet, Love In Real Life is already generating massive buzz. Whether it’s the live previews, the intimate conversations, or the vulnerable new material, Lizzo is making it clear. This album isn’t just a collection of songs. It’s a whole new movement.

Stay tuned. Love is in the air, and Lizzo’s just getting started.
