He might still be a college student, but Nick Folwarczny is quickly making a name for himself in the indie-folk world. After developing a love for music during his formative years, Nick started to specialize in guitar and music production. He is now a prominent singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, making his way as an independent artist while taking classes at The Ohio State University. He recently supported Hans Williams and Brenn! on tour last year, has received acclaim from the likes of Atwood Magazine, and has released countless fan-favorite singles like “The Weatherman” and “Drive Slow.” With his new single, “Sweat,” Nick is continuing to build a reputation as an artist you need to know.
Whether it’s your first crush or your forever soulmate, chances are that this person has made you feel some type of way. Maybe you got butterflies the first time you talked to them, or maybe you broke into a cold sweat whenever they were near. There are a lot of emotions to process, which is what Nick Folwarczny describes on “Sweat.” His resonant indie-folk vocals immediately pull you in, enveloping you in all the desire and torment. As he tries to organize his thoughts, he sings, “You’ll start a fire / You’ll watch me burn / I’m starting to love you / So, why does it hurt?” The whole track just spills out of him, like it is all too much to contain any longer.
About “Sweat,” Nick explains,
“This record stems from my sophomore year of college during a short-lived infatuation. I kept getting mixed signals without any resolution in sight; I wasn’t sure how to approach this girl, so I wrote ‘Sweat’ about the nerves and the attraction I was feeling.”
