Anberlin celebrates two decades in the alternative rock scene with “A Day Late (20th Anniversary Version)”

Anberlin celebrates two decades in the alternative rock scene with “A Day Late (20th Anniversary Version).” The newest version features Matty Mullins, the frontman of Memphis May Fire, on vocals as Stephen Christian will no longer be touring full time. The newest rendition of the single is accompanied by a music video directed by Jacob Moniz and Nate Young.

In August of 2024, Anberlin released their first album in 10 years, Vega, featuring “Walk Alone (feat. Matty Mullins)” and “Seven (feat. Matty Mullins).” The band had first parted ways in 2014, but reunited for a series of lockdown-era livestreams. They approached this new era in a different way than they ever had in the past, stating, “If it feels good, let’s try it.” After their time apart, Anberlin was excited to get back to work and create a body of art that felt new and risky:

“It’s an incredible feeling to know that we’ve impacted other people on that level – the amount of love we’ve felt is undeniable, and it’s one of the main reasons we’ve kept going for as long as we have.”
