Grammy winner Doechii releases one of her earliest songs, “Anxiety,” with new vocals and visual

Date:

Fresh off of her Best Rap Album Grammy win, Doechii makes waves with a fan favorite re-release with her single “Anxiety.” A song that originally featured on Doechii’s bedroom-recorded, self-released 2019 mixtape, “Anxiety” features newly recorded vocals and is now cleared for fans to stream everywhere.

After being out for over a week, “Anxiety” was an instant hit, the re-release being something that fans have been looking forward to for years. A self-produced sensation, the “new” single is already climbing the charts and becoming one of Doechii’s most popular trending tracks.

Containing a heavy sample of Gotye and Kimbra’s “Somebody That I Used To Know,” an already wildly popular track in its own right, Doechii makes the song completely her own. With a seamless blend of rap and R&B, the production is stellar. Fit with ad-libs, catchy hooks, and spoken word ambiance, it’s no surprise that this one has been a fan favorite since before Doechii blew up. The track is largely unaltered aside from the re-recorded vocals, which have seen a good reception; fans are happy to see a leak that finally stays true to the teaser.

Truly unique and generationally pioneering in the rap game, this is obviously a victory lap for Doechii. Stream the single and view the new visual below:
