Naomi Jane is a rising presence in the modern pop landscape. Her latest single “Hang Up, Move On” draws together the acclaimed artist PARKER and producer/composer Nataan for an unforgettable collaboration. The single is an 80’s-tinged breakup anthem that embraces catharsis and admits the hard truths we’ve been holding back.
“Hang Up, Move On” comes alive with soul-striking synths, spatial reverbs, effervescent electronics, and evocative vocals from Naomi Jane. She sings, “Who makes the call? It’s no one’s fault. You’re mine to lose. I’m begging you, Hang up, Move On.” The lyrics tell a story of a relationship, dissolved by distance, stretched thin and on it’s last leg. The single captures the reality that breakups are oftentimes hard, but inevitable in the end.
Revealing more on their serendipitous collaboration, Jane confides, “The collaboration felt very much like feeding off each other’s experience. It felt as if there were never any bad ideas. It was nice because everyone got to contribute their craft. PARKER, Nataan, and I are like the three Spider-Mans where we are somewhat the same but also different.”
Naomi Jane, PARKER, and Nataan met at a songwriting program called Prodigy Camp in Washington. All three artists lend their diverse backgrounds and sonic influences to the atmosphere that surrounds “Hang Up, Move On” for an eclectic listening experience.
