There was always a passion for music that lived in Chevy Beaulieu, long before he started writing and playing music. The singer-songwriter’s father is a three-time Canadian Fiddle Champion, and his mother used to play music from the likes of Merle Haggard all the time around the house. When Chevy was a teenager, his family band opened for Canadian country artist Shane Yellowbird, which became quite a moment. It inspired Chevy to take music a little more seriously, and now at 30, he has made it into a career of his own. Chevy has six radio singles, three IMC #1s, and a 2022 nomination for the Country Music Alberta Fans Choice. He is now making his 604 Records debut with the release of “If We Want To.”
Written by Josh Osborne, Emily Falvey, and Tommy Lee James, “If We Want To” is all about living life to the fullest. Throughout the single, Chevy touches on getting into all kinds of adventures with someone he cares about, whether it’s jumping into rivers or getting right out of town. Over the modern country soundscape of this anthem, he sings, “Yeah, meet me tonight at the edge of the world / Every runaway boy needs a runaway girl / The clock’s still spinning, let’s give it a whirl,” ready to seize the day. The rock and roll groove moves the track forward into the many possibilities, inspiring the listener to “chase every moment like it might be your last.”
About “If We Want To,” Chevy shares,
“‘If We Want To’ is a rockin’, upbeat, toe-tapping song about doing whatever you want, whenever you want to. Where’s the fun in life without a little adventure? I’m so excited for my debut single with 604 Records. It’s different from what I’ve released before, but somehow, it’s still me. I hope everyone loves it as much as I do.”
