Olivia Lunny releases “HEAVEN,” her first new track of 2025

Date:

Canadian pop singer-songwriter Olivia Lunny makes a moody entrance into 2025 with her new single “HEAVEN.” It’s a darkly entrancing cut with a different take on love—one of pure obsession and infatuation.

With a slow and methodical opening, a dark heaviness is established right away. Lunny implores the use of synths, reverb, and voice echoes to create this effect. As the song builds to the chorus, a more traditional pop track emerges. With the repeated hook, “I find heaven in your eyes,” the song becomes catchy, if not slightly more forgettable.

The production in the verses is interesting and I only wish this playful instability was carried on throughout the rest of the track. What comes out with “HEAVEN” is a clean, well produced pop track which doesn’t fully commit to its potential, leading to it blending into the current pop sphere.

Still, Olivia Lunny is clearly headed in a positive direction, changing lanes a little bit and experimenting on this new standalone single. If she continues to push her sound into an edgier, more experimental state we could be in for a year of interesting releases from her.
