Melodic Music Monday: March 3

Date:

Every Monday, we bring you a playlist filled with new tracks the Melodic staff has been listening to on repeat. Hear some of our latest obsessions below:

Knox, “You Happened” – “You Happened” is about toxic ex-partners. Through strong vocals and punchy percussion, Knox shares how this ex-partner has ruined the things he used to love. In “You Happened,” Knox lists the things that used to bring him comfort but now cause distress since forming a relationship with this person.

– Emma Celenza

——

Stephen Stanley, “This Far Down” – Singer-songwriter Stephen Stanley has announced a headlining 28 show tour across North America to accompany his newly announced upcoming album, Trustfall. The Christian pop artist has gained a strong following in the past year and is now ready to release the new sophomore album on the 25th of April. Stanley’s latest single’s “this far down” and “your heart” are the first glimpses into the new project with the album now available to preorder.

– Ezra Kendrick

elijah woods, “Could You Love Me?” – Part sad and part petty, “Could You Love Me?” speaks to those out there who find themselves in a one-way relationship. Throughout the heart-shattering track, elijah woods tries to figure out where he stands with someone who is supposed to love him back. With a sense of urgency, he sings, “You only need me when it works for you / Would you let me know if I’m an inconvenience?” and “Would you call me up just to ask how I’m doing? / Could you just, for once, think of someone but you?” In the end, his most important question is, “Could you love me like you love yourself?” but he knows that the answer is probably not what he wants to hear.

– Christine Sloman

——

Dasha, “Not At This Party” – “Not At This Party” is the newest anthem for faking it ’til you make it. The storyline follows the country singer while she’s out on the town, distracted by reminiscing on a past relationship. Though everyone believes she’s having a good time, she’s actually stuck on the past waiting for a text that’s never going to come.

– Reagan Denning
