Briston Maroney highlights the small victories in “Real Good Swimmer”

Date:

Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Briston Maroney released his newest single, “Real Good Swimmer,” on Feb. 21. Having headlined shows across North America and Europe, Maroney has built a strong following as an artist with 700 million streams globally.

“Real Good Swimmer” takes notice of the small victories as Maroney turns the ordinary into the celebratory. About the song, Maroney said:

“I went for a jog in L.A. one day and wound up running along a fence parallel to the L.A. River. There was a square cut out of the fence just big enough for a relatively little man like myself to crawl through, and all at once I imagined a timeline where I crawled through that little hole and became the king of the gizzards, vibin’ down by the river, cig ablaze, all skinny — like a lizard. That’s why and how we are here now, discussing said story.”

Maroney is currently on tour with the Kooks in Australia, but will soon be touring with Peach Pit this spring and summer. Tickets are available for purchase here.
