New York-raised, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Zoe Ko has shared the first taste of her new EP, not ur girlfriend, with the brand-new single “furr.” The EP is due out March 7, 2025. Just two months after sitting down with Ko to discuss her single “lucky,” she released “drop the man” back in January, after two of her best friends were on a streak of having terrible taste in men.

“furr” is a bodacious 2000s-inspired club track that captures the feeling you get when you’re in fuzzy couture.

Inspired by the likes of Britney SpearsRihanna and No Doubt-era Gwen Stefani, Ko was inspired by the combination of “that New York alt-rock and clubby sound with 2000s pop girl energy.”

Ko’s sophomore EP, not ur girlfriend, is “dedicated to that winning formula and could be regarded as the party-girl tome for anyone who’s ‘super hot and young’ and hungry to cash out on the fruits of their youth,'” according to a press release.

“[I’m] not giving any f**** toward other people’s opinions and taking creative risks and just trying to be the most crazy and authentic self that I can be,” she said. “I have never been as confident in my life as I am right now.”

Two weeks after releasing her debut EP, Baby Teeth, Ko said things changed. She explained that she left her ex behind and was forced to be financially independent for the first time in her life.

Presave not ur girlfriend now.
