In celebration of record store staff, customers, and artists, Record Store Day will be taking place on April 12th. The tradition began in 2007 “As a way to celebrate and spread the word about the unique culture surrounding nearly 1400 independently owned record stores in the US.” Cities like New York, Los Angeles, Boise, Charleston, Raleigh, and Las Vegas have officially declared Record Store Day an official holiday. This years ambassador is Post Malone.
Every year, specialty vinyls and CD’s are released for the occasion. Some of the specialty records for 2025 include Gracie Abrams Live From Radio City Music Hall, Kelsea Ballerini’s The First Time: 10 Year Anniversary Edition, Charli xcx’s “Guess” featuring Billie Eilish, and more.
