Between their two self-released studio albums, No Vacancy and Have A Nice Day, Treaty Oak Revival have earned over one billion global streams. One billion. Fans of the country and rock scenes are going absolutely crazy for the five-piece band, who are receiving 22M streams and selling 14K albums per week. Additionally, Treaty Oak Revival are dominating the tour scene, having performed at Lollapalooza, gone on multiple sold-out North American headline tours, and been added to upcoming festival lineups this year for Rock The Country, Stagecoach, and Bonnaroo – to name a few. Of course, so much success can take a toll on anyone’s mental state, and Treaty Oak Revival explore this concept on “Bad State of Mind.”
An explosive country rock anthem with layers of guitar and confessional lyrics, “Bad State of Mind” will have listeners addressing their dark and invasive thoughts head-on. The track has already done well at live shows, understandably, as its energy is almost too big to contain in headphones or laptop speakers alone. All the while, vocalist Sam Canty delivers emotional lyrics like, “Days keep adding up / Finding ways to still feel young / Fighting back them heavy hands of time” and “So you can lay your cards down / If you want to / ‘Cause the dealer has the winning hand,” frustrated with uncontrollable circumstances. In the end, he is “Calling out to God to give me a sign / ‘Cause I’m in a bad state of mind,” hoping to move beyond this state soon.
