Seven-time Grammy Award-winning artist Kacey Musgraves has released a captivating new mini-documentary, Kacey Musgraves – Deeper Well (The Making of the Album), offering fans an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the creative journey behind her acclaimed album Deeper Well. The film takes viewers inside New York City’s legendary Electric Lady Studios, where Musgraves collaborates over several months with co-producers Daniel Tashian and Ian Fitchuk. It provides an intimate look at her songwriting process, the evolution of the album’s sound, and the inspiration behind its deeply personal themes. The documentary also includes stunning footage of Musgraves filming the title track’s music video against the breathtaking, icy landscapes of Iceland.
Deeper Well has collect four 2025 Grammy nominations, including Best Country Album, Best Country Song, Best Country Solo Performance, and Best Engineered Album. Additionally, Musgraves secured a fifth nomination for Best Americana Performance for her collaboration with Madi Diaz on Don’t Do Me Good. This continues her impressive Grammy legacy, following her 2024 win for Best Country Song by a Duo or Group for I Remember Everything, her chart-topping duet with Zach Bryan. The song not only marked her first #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 but also made history as the first country duet to top the chart in 40 years, following Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers’ Islands in the Stream in 1983.
Musgraves recently concluded her Deeper Well World Tour, performing to sold-out crowds across major cities, including Nashville, London, Los Angeles, New York, Amsterdam, Brussels, and Chicago. With her signature blend of poetic storytelling and genre-defying sound, the tour reinforced her status as a global music powerhouse.
