Melodic Music Monday: February 3

Date:

Every Monday, we bring you a playlist filled with new tracks the Melodic staff has been listening to on repeat. Hear some of our latest obsessions below:

Cameron Whitcomb, “Hundred Mile High” – With a little country twang and pop-rock sensibilities, Whitcomb’s wildly colorful yet deeply lived-in storytelling takes hold — aware of his own self-destructive tendencies but unable, or unwilling, to break free. This release follows an already busy year, including the debut of “Medusa (Acoustic),” a stripped-down rendition of his captivating fan favorite “Medusa,” which has quickly amassed over 26 million global streams and counting.

– Clare Gehlich

——

Livingston, “Brainstorm” – With more than 3 million monthly Spotify listeners, Livingston is on the rise in the alternative rock scene… “Brainstorm” is an upbeat, dynamic track that will rock the upcoming stages of Livingston’s tour. Fans enjoying this track can also look forward to Livingston’s next single, “The Game,” set to release March 7, according to his Instagram.

– Ashley Robinson

——

Knuckle Puck, “Nice To Know Ya” – Paired with intense electric guitar usage, the steady bass and snare drums pair perfectly with the varying styles lead vocalist Joe Taylor delivers each verse. Knuckle Puck’s “Nice to Know Ya” stands as an alluring release, as the song’s lyrics and instrumentation imitate early 2000s pop-punk songs such as “Dirty Little Secret” by The All-American Rejects, or “All the Small Things” by blink-182.

– Izzy Smith

——

Teddy Swims, “Guilty” – With over three million Spotify listens and a new music video boasting over one million views, “Guilty” highlights the unwavering love felt for a partner to the point of needing them endlessly. Swims belts in the track’s chorus, “If havin’ a bleeding heart is a crime / If lovin’ you means I’m servin’ life / I’m guilty.”
