Cory Cullinan is a composer, teacher, and author who pushes the envelope with his experimental sonic vignettes. His latest release, “Footprint”, is a powerful listening experience that draws to mind images of new life, awakenings, and rebirth. The best part is, even Cullinan himself agrees that each listener might extract an entirely different meaning from listening to “Footprint”. What began as a project as an undergrad at Stanford in the 1980s has since metamorphosed into an audio piece, an immersive audience experience, and now, a multimedia capstone directed by his daughter Sidney Cullinan.
“Footprint” is a journey in every sense of the word. What begins as slow-moving currents of a tranquil stream evolves into bustling city life and frenzied electronics before returning back to serenity. In many ways, “Footprint” mimics the progression of our lives. The visuals directed by Sidney Cullinan capture diverse landscapes across the world. From wilderness to rubble, “Footprint” attempts to give a voice to each corner of the Earth.
“Footprint” is a moving collaboration between father-daughter duo Cory and Sidney Cullinan. The visuals shed light on Sidney’s passion and work as an environmentalist and filmmaker. She has previously led social campaigns for the US Green Chamber Of Commerce and The Nature Conservatory. “Footprint” is Cory Cullinan’s latest release.
