Pacific asks “Was I Wrong About Us?” in their latest heartbreaking single

Date:

Nashville’s very own Pacific asks an important question in their new single “Was I Wrong About Us?” With an 80s synth soundscape, the single tells the story of a friendship that was all but misinterpreted, leading to its potential end.

Immediately, the song has an old-school 80s feel with heavy synth and vocals with a slight reverb. “We can’t go on and live a lie,” the lyrics state in the first verse as the electric guitar is introduced at the start of the chorus. With a riff reminiscent of debut The 1975, the singer reflects on misreading signs, something that seems to happen often, despite being unintentional. It’s a story that relates to many: you can’t help who you fall for. The second verse tackles complicated feelings of losing something you never had, seeing the person you care for being cared for by someone else.

Pacific is the project of singer/songwriter and producer Will Hunter. Pacific has shared stages with the likes of Dayglow and Surfaces, bringing their very own style and sound to the Nashville alt-rock scene.
