Ski Team Writes a Love Letter to Herself on “Me”

Date:

Ski Team is a dynamic force in rising indie-pop. The Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter teamed up with esteemed producer Daniel Knowles (Sharon Van Etten, Cigarettes After Sex) on her wistful new single “Me”. The track is an introspective, iridescent reverie on the essence of being human. It asks us to step outside of the societal expectations, norms, and standards the people we surround ourselves with ask us to meet and focus on ourselves. When you cut out the criticism, what is it that you truly desire?

“Me” comes alive with sparkling synths, bold notes of saxophone, and choppy beats that get stuck on the ear. Ski Team sings, “You asked me what I really wanted / I couldn’t think of anything but me.” The single is tied together by poignant memories and hypotheticals surrounding a former flame. Ski Team notes on the ongoing adjustment of redefining a relationship and deepening the distance between someone she was once close to. The music video for “Me” captures Ski Team amidst a stirring array of cityscapes as she searches for answers within herself.

Ski Team (Lucie Lozinski) grew up as the daughter of musicians and caught her passion for songwriting from a young age. “Me” is yet another dazzling release in Ski Team’s indie-pop catalog as she redefines the genre with hauntingly vivid lyrics and experimental sonics that push the envelope.
