No indie artist is keeping grunge alive quite like Kit Major. With a nostalgic yet highly present musicality, Major is an indie alt-rockstar that all music lovers should keep on their radar.

Major recently released her latest EP, Love.Sick.Major, on October 25. A project that ignites feminine rage and douses it in glitter, Major’s newest musical effort is fiery and intentional, as Major brings forward confrontational and vulnerable lyrics with a performative, camp charm. Donning influences ranging from grunge, pop and old school punk, Major has established a unique and exciting musicality for herself — one that may inspire listeners in the same way that artists like Bikini Kill and Hole did when they first came onto the scene.

Bringing forward her own take on punk rock, the California-based self-proclaimed “Dirty Misfit” has spent the last several years to hone in and master the colorful, retro aesthetic that she now calls her own. She’s been releasing music since 2018, but Major began making waves in the music scene with her 2022 single “SOLO DISCO” that she made in collaboration with Vardaan Arora. That same year, Major released her debut EP Vampire Saturday. Since then, she’s been steadily releasing singles up until the release of her sophomore EP Love.Sick.Major.

Major offers a unique and refreshing take on rock and roll. Reminiscent of female rock icons like Shirley Manson, Major is just as rebellious and unapologetic with her artistry as she is vulnerable and heartfelt. With how aesthetically and sonically exciting Major is, fans may be delighted to know that Major doesn’t plan on slowing down any time soon.
