Rising K-pop group, BABYMONSTER, has announced their highly anticipated debut album, DRIP, scheduled to be released on Nov. 1. The album will feature seven brand-new songs, including the title track composed by iconic rapper and singer-songwriter G-Dragon, as well as a remix of their chart-topping debut single “BATTER UP” and their recent hit “FOREVER.”
BABYMONSTER, comprised of members Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Ahyeon, Rami, Rora and Chiquita, is the first girl group to debut under YG Entertainment since BLACKPINK. The group has already garnered global recognition, being named Billboard‘s K-Pop Rookie of the Month and included in Teen Vogue’s “Girl Groups to Watch” list. Their exceptional performance skills and live vocals have been highlighted by top publications, including Billboard, NYLON and Consequence.
DRIP follows the success of BABYMONSTER’s record-breaking EP, BABYMONS7ER, released in April, which sold over 400,000 copies upon release. The EP included fan-favorites “BATTER UP,” “SHEESH” and “LIKE THAT,” with the latter written by global superstar Charlie Puth. “SHEESH” reached No. 16 on the Billboard Global Chart (excluding the US) and No. 33 on the Billboard 200 Chart, maintaining spots on both for 18 and 14 consecutive weeks, respectively.
BABYMONSTER’s impressive live performances have been showcased at high-profile events such as Japan’s Summer Sonic 2024 and the Singapore F1 Grand Prix, where they performed alongside global artists like Jon Batiste, MÅNESKIN and Greta Van Fleet. The group also made waves in fashion, becoming global ambassadors for apparel company Adidas.
Their debut album DRIP is expected to further solidify BABYMONSTER’s position as K-pop’s next global phenomenon.
