Puerto Rican artist Rauw Alejandro takes fans on a global trip with his latest trap-heavy single “Pasaporte” featuring producer Mr. Naisgai which came out on Sept. 27. With many upbeat layers, he sings about the adventures he can have around the world and finally reveals the release date for his upcoming album Cosa Nuestra which he has been teasing fans about.

The song begins with striking piano chords and a spacey melody reminiscent of his fourth album Saturno. The singer makes it clear from the beginning that he wants to live life to the fullest by traveling, especially when he sings lyrics like “Del próximo destino no sé si vo’a regresar.” As we approach the chorus, the bass goes up and new layers are added to the song. Throughout the background of the upbeat chorus, you can hear Rauw Alejandro sing “Una nueva aventura.”

In his post-chorus, Rauw Alejandro emphasizes how he feels most like himself when he’s traveling when he sings, “Otra vez vulevo a ser yo.” He then begins to list the sights he’s seen around the world like “Las ciudad en Nueva York, cherry blossoms en Japón.” However, he still pays homage to his home country when he sings, “Puerto Rico y su sazón, nadie la hace mejor” at the end of his second verse.

Rauw Alejandro’s music video perfectly captures the adventurous and energetic themes of “Pasaporte” as it begins with him not hesitating to hop on a plane to party with Mr. Naisgai. Throughout the video, he can be seen dancing, raving, and jet skiing. At the end of the music video, he reveals in excitement that the release date for his new album Cosa Nuestra is Nov. 15 by writing on a white poster with a marker and cheering with others.

The 31-year-old singer has been proving how multi-talented he is this fall while promoting Cosa Nuestra. He danced across the VMAs stage on Sept. 11 while singing “Touching the Sky,” “Diluvio,” and “Dejame Entrar” against a backdrop of a city with the words “Cosa Nuestra” in neon lights. Rauw Alejandro also performed at the Global Citizen Festival in New York and encouraged fans to donate.
