Ashley Kutcher announces new EP ‘Play Responsibly’ and shares Thanksgiving Break Tour dates

Date:

Ashley Kutcher is back just eight months after the release of her debut album, House On The Water, released on Jan. 26, 2024, with the announcement of her first independent project — a 7-track EP titled Play Responsibly, due out Oct. 18. Known for her heartfelt lyrics that explore themes of heartbreak and romance, Kutcher continues to evolve her country-pop acoustic sound with this new release.

House On The Water featured standout singles like “Boy From Carolina,” “Girl In The Mirror” and “Matchbox,” which combined catchy hooks with a more organic, country-influenced style. Now, the Play Responsibly EP will include previously released singles like “How’s The Weather?”, “Plot Twist” and her latest release, “Plead”. Kutcher will also drop her next single, “A Crush (is just a lack of information)”, this Friday, Sept. 20, leaving three unreleased tracks to complete the EP. As of Sept. 18, “Plot Twist” has garnered over 640,000 streams on Spotify.

The most recent single, “Plead,” showcases Kutcher confronting an ex who returns after a long absence, trying to rekindle their relationship. In a mix of frustration and empowerment, Kutcher makes it clear she has moved on (“Go ahead and plead, down on your knees / It’s not doing what you think, if anything / It’s just embarrassing how you up and went out”). She reveals how her perspective has shifted, and she’s no longer swayed by their charm.

Kutcher is also gearing up for her Thanksgiving Break Tour, which kicks off in November, with stops in cities like Atlanta, Columbus, Minneapolis and Seattle. You can purchase your tickets here.
