Venezuelan artist Corina Smith joins Armenian Rosa Linn to create indie pop song “Universe (Spanish Version)” that released on August 30. In the final installment of Rosa Linn’s “Universe” series, the two artists’ powerful vocals complement each other as they sing about longing for someone.
Rosa further explains the theme of “Universe,”
“It is a song about longing—longing for someone or something you can never have in this version of reality; imagining another life, other circumstances, creating a whole different world where all the stars align perfectly for you to get that one thing that’ll finally make you complete!”
Corina Smith, who released her debut album last year, strengthens Rosa Linn’s story of hoping that she can be with someone in another world by accompanying Rosa Linn’s folksy vocals when she sings “Y no quiero sentir / Que ya no estas” which roughly translates to “l don’t want to feel that you’re not here”. Over electronic beats, Corina Smith beautifully ends the song when she sings “Y me pregunto si esto / Funcionaria en otro universe” to show how she ponders how this nonexistent relationship would work out in another universe.
Rosa Linn drives the daydream she is concocting for listeners when she belts out “In another universe / I could love you” with a smooth run. She lets Corina Smith join her with perfect timing to turn the song into a sweet duet.
The 23-year-old singer is determined to be Armenia’s first global music star. So far, she is accomplishing that with her single “Universe” by collaborating with artists to create alternate versions in different languages. For example, she worked with Talia Lahoud on the Arabic version. However, she initially gained recognition with her song “SNAP” on Eurovision 2022. With authentic and heartfelt songwriting, Rosa Linn is establishing herself as an international artist to pay attention to.
