Los Angeles-based trio Cheat Codes teamed up with multi-Grammy award-winning band Train to release their latest song “Bloom” on Aug. 16. Boasting acclamations from The Rolling Stone, TIME, and Billboard along with other publications, Cheat Codes is making their mark on musical collaboration and cross-genre innovation. Over the last two years, the trio has released four albums, all with a very individual feel – pop, dance, alternative, and country.
About working with Cheat Codes to produce Bloom, Train frontman Pat Monahan said:
“I’m a big fan of Cheat Codes. I love their songs, energy and the whole vibe they put out to the world. When I heard ‘Bloom’ I thought, ‘This song is huge! They definitely do not need me.’ I was so excited that they disagreed and wanted me on the track. This is an incredible song and I am so proud to be on it with these guys. Can’t wait for you all to hear it.”
Working out of San Francisco, Train has had 14 songs reach Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, and 13 albums on the Billboard 200 chart. The five-member band has worked together since 1994, producing massive hits including “Drops of Jupiter” and “Hey, Soul Sister”. The group has surpassed 1 billion Spotify streams, and has sold over 30 million tracks and 10 million albums worldwide.
About collaborating with Train, Cheat Codes said:
“Working with Pat and Train was a full circle moment for us – we’ve been fans of the band ever since we could remember and their music represents a soundtrack that’s already a part of our lives. Getting to meet Pat and work together reminded us why we do this. ‘Bloom’ is our summer anthem and daily reminder to surround yourself with people you love who you know will always have your back.”
In true Cheat Codes fashion, “Bloom” was released in several versions – it can be streamed in its radio version, along with sped up, slowed down, a capella, and instrumental versions. “Bloom” can be accessed wherever you stream music.
