Kelsea Ballerini announces October release date for new album ‘Patterns’ and shares new song “Sorry Mom”

Date:

Kelsea Ballerini is back and better than ever with the announcement of her fifth full-length album, Patterns, scheduled for release on Oct. 25 through Black River. In a collection of songs, Ballerini says it features an “accurate snapshot” of her life, according to an interview with the Associated Press

The album art for Ballerini’s new album features her sitting on a pile of mismatched suitcases on a beach at sunset. Ballerini hinted at this theme of self-discovery and emotional unpacking in an Instagram post where she shared the cover art, writing, “Let’s start unpacking.”

Alongside the album announcement, Ballerini released the lead single “Sorry Mom,” today, Friday, Aug. 9. In an Instagram post, Ballerini wrote that the single, “Sorry Mom,” is a love letter to the growth of mother and daughter to woman and woman. Ballerini stated that this song was one of the first songs she wrote for Patterns.

Patterns comes after the release of the track “Cowboys Cry Too,” featuring Noah Kahan, which is the only collaboration on the album. She previously released her fourth full-length album, Subject to Change (2022) and her second EP, Rolling Up The Welcome Mat (2023).

Preorder Patterns now.
