Belle & The Vertigo Waves put a new spin on “Like You Love Me”

Date:

Written almost a decade ago, Belle & The Vertigo Waves re-release a new version of one of their oldest songs, “Like You Love Me”. The original version of the song is a beautifully slow ballad filled with pent up anger and resentment over a failed relationship.

This new version of “Like You Love Me” is packed with all of the anger seeded below the surface of the original. Beginning the song are slow vocals and a softer sound, but with a heavy guitar slowly building up into the onslaught of the chorus. The new version of the song outwardly denounces the failed relationship in a way that the original had not. While the base message of the song is still the same, the emotions expressed are completely flipped between the 2017 and 2024 versions. This version of “Like You Love Me” represents how much the band has changed in terms of sound since its inception.
