Weekly Roundup: April 15

Weekly Roundup April 15

Every Monday, we bring you a playlist filled with tracks the Melodic staff has been listening to on repeat. Hear some of our latest obsessions on our Weekly Roundup Spotify Playlist and read about them below.

Isolde Fair- “Strip Away” “Strip Away” is Fair’s latest single and said she wrote the song at 3 am, attempting to combine her love for classical music into her contemporary pop sound. The song opens with its catchy melody, which you’ll instantly pick up on. You can hear her violin introduce itself in the verses, building upon what she calls “cinematic pop.” It’s incredibly inspiring to watch someone fuse the genres & influences they love and make something completely unique- and Isolde Fair is a pro at it.

-Caroline Speer

East Harbor- “The Cure” Lead singer Josh Dobson delivers each line of “The Cure” with sincerity and conviction. His vocal delivery conveys the song’s message of resilience and self-discovery, inviting listeners to reflect on their own struggles. The lyrics echoing “The Cure Is You” sheds light on the internal battles many face, such as anxiety and depression.

-Victoria Goodwin

Tobias Defoe- “I Want You” The message of this track is a sad and regretful one. The stripped-down nature of the song with just the piano and Defoe’s emotional vocals give it even more meaning, complementing the lyrics perfectly. With its relatable message and excellent vocals, fans will have “I Want You” on repeat.

-Brittany Muldoon

Sabrina Carpenter- “Espresso” Accompanying the single is a music video where Sabrina embraces retro beach vibes, celebrating self-confidence. The song’s message revolves around embracing one’s inner femininity and having confidence. Already, fans are loving the track, and it’s poised to be a summer hit.

-Mikaila Storrs
