The Federal Empire is a Los Angeles-based alternative duo consisting of Chad Wolf and Grammy-nominated singer McKay Stevens. After amassing more than 100 million streams across streaming platforms, they are back with their latest single, “Hate You Too.” Written as a humorous response to a failed relationship, cutting off ties might be for the best for Wolf and Stevens.
“This is for everyone with that ex that they just say, ‘cool I hate you too.’ We used humor so much as a coping skill and to deal with things or get over them,” the duo said. “We wanted to tell a true but funny story from our personal lives in hopes that everyone out there that is single or going through a bad break up or had a toxic Ex in the past can listen and laugh and find healing in screaming the lyrics at the top of their lungs.”
For The Federal Empire, music is considered a healing and therapeutic process, and they hope to pass along such ease to listeners who are also hurting or trying to find solace around Valentine’s Day.
