Date:

Atlanta came alive last night as Dance Gavin Dance brought The Jackpot Juicer Tour to the Coca Cola Roxy with support from SiM, Rain City Drive, and Within Destruction.

The nearly sold-out show kicked off with a short set from Within Destruction shortly followed by Rain City Drive, rising stars of the alternative rock scene. Starting off with “Blood Runs Cold,” lead singer Matt McAndrew poured his heart into every lyric, while Colin Vieira (bass), Weston Richmond (lead guitar), Felipe Sanchez (rhythm guitar), and Zachary Baker (drums) brought their energy and skill to the stage, creating the perfect blend of talent that perfectly complemented Matt’s mesmerizing vocals.

As their set continued, the audience enthusiastically joined in on the vocals for “Prayers,” “Cutting It Close,” “Waiting on You,” and “Heavier.” A few dedicated fans even sang along to the band’s upcoming release, “Frozen,” scheduled for release next Friday, September 22.

Rain City Drive wrapped up their eight-song set with a high-energy performances of “Like I Do” and “Talk to a Friend.” This band is undoubtedly on the rise, and their live performance is a must-see for anyone who appreciates alternative rock with killer vocals and instrumental backing.

Next up was SiM, the Japanese sensation known for their genre-blurring sound and band behind the opening theme for Attach on Titan. SiM took the stage with an explosion of energy that had the crowd jumping and moshing in no time. Their unique fusion of metal, punk, and reggae was a hit with the diverse audience. Highlights included their hit tracks like “The Rumbling” and “Devil in Your Heart,” which had everyone singing along. SiM’s charismatic frontman, MAH, commanded the stage with a magnetic presence that left a lasting impression.

Dance Gavin Dance burst onto the stage with an electrifying energy that ignited the crowd. They opened their set with “The Ghost of Billy Royalton,” an ode to Dance Gavin Dance’s long-time bassist, Tim Feerick, who unfortunately passed away in 2022.

Lead vocalist, Tilian Pearson seamlessly shifted between tender vocals and powerful screams, aided by Jon Mess. Dance Gavin Dance’s performance was equally captivating with setlist that included songs from “Synergy,” “Lyrics Lie,” and “Die Another Day,” and dazzling light displays and striking visuals.
