Nashville-based indie-pop artist Stacey Kelleher has just released her new single “Die on This Hill”, an emotional track anticipating the end of a relationship. This release comes ahead of the release of her second EP Out of Orbit, due out Friday, September 15.
“Die on This Hill” starts off slow, with Kelleher’s soft and expressive vocals drawing us in. A pedal steel guitar in the background adds a bit of a country twist while also emphasizing the sorrow evident in the lyrics. The song builds through the verses and the chorus to the climactic bridge, where Kelleher’s vocals really shine. The ending of the song is raw and heavy, with a muffled piano and sounds of nature in the background finishing it off. You can listen here.
“Die on This Hill” is a pleasure to listen to from start to finish, as it makes listeners feel like they’re going on this emotional journey along with Kelleher. The vulnerable lyrics along with Kelleher’s stunning vocal delivery will touch the hearts of listeners and leave them wanting more.
If you like “Die on This Hill”, be sure to keep your ear out for Out of Orbit being released next week.
