Louie Rubio Urges Listeners to “Find Your Light” in New Single

Date:

LA-based indie artist Louie Rubio‘s insightful new single “Find Your Light” dropped this afternoon and listeners will find it easy to relate. Writing, recording, and mixing the track all on his own in his LA studio, Rubio’s multi-faceted musical talent shines on this single.

The song grabs your attention right away with the opening line, “You kill yourself just to make a living”. A groovy guitar rhythm and insistent drum beats layered underneath Rubio’s fluid vocal harmonies lift the song to another level. The music takes on an 80s feel with the addition of a West African Crelicam acoustic guitar just before the dreamy chorus hits. At this point, Rubio urges listeners to “find your light” as he confronts the societal epidemic of workaholism in his hard-hitting lyrics.

The idea of breaking free from the cycle is driven home by the lyric “are you winning?” repeated in both the first and second verses. The easygoing and positive vibe of the track serves to show listeners what they’re missing out on by staying stuck in the rat race. Once Rubio has successfully made his point, we’re treated to about a minute’s worth of an instrumental outro featuring a slow guitar rhythm and a subtle piano.

Recognized by Vice magazine, Variety, The New York Times, and many more as a multi-talented musician, Louie Rubio continues to produce his own unique brand of music, pushing the limits and impressing listeners all the while.
