Juniper Honey faces imminent heartbreak in “Why Did You Call”

Date:

SoCal alternative rock band Juniper Honey just released their newest single, “Why Did You Call,” an upbeat track that disguises the sadness of a relationship that has fallen apart.

“Why Did You Call” is the quintessential indie rock love song; with a vibrant guitar riff and an optimistic rhythm section, the seemingly happy vibe becomes a coping mechanism for the listener, as the longing and frustration in the vocals kicks in. With influences such as Wilco and The Beatles, Juniper Honey crafted a feel-good song with a strong vintage feel to it, bringing a sense of hope after the unavoidable end of a love story.

With its charismatic quality, the song describes the feelings of heartbreak and imminent loss with a bit of a hopeful twist. It is very cinematic in its storytelling, and the listener can place themselves in that metaphoric moment of confusion when that phone call comes through. It almost feels like the perfect roadtrip song, as we slowly walk away onto better things.

“Why Did You Call” is now available on all streaming platforms.
