OTR teams up with JONES for summery “Heat Of The Sun”

Date:

All of 2020 was confusing and baffling, especially the first half. As the world tried to make sense of and adjust to the covid pandemic, tough decisions had to be made. A common question dealt with the matter of pausing day-to-day activities or continuing on like normal. The music industry fell into that gray area, where venues and tours shut down but artists like OTR continued to release albums. The former aerospace engineer-turned-producer shared Lost At Midnight in April of 2020, bringing his sharp and dynamic abilities to the forefront through a collection of dreamy, inescapable tracks. He took some time to himself since then, collecting stories and feelings that would soon be channeled into creative new music. The time has arrived, however, for OTR to showcase what he has been working on, as he gives us “Heat Of The Sun.”

Summer comes to us a little early with “Heat Of The Sun.” You feel as if you are cruising on a spaceship into the sunset with this track, OTR doing well to mesh lightweight melodies and cosmic synth into a warm and spacious soundscape. The carefree vibes are brought to a point with feathery pop vocals from UK artist JONES, who delivers lines like, “And I don’t need a thing when you’re here with me / We can light up the dark for hours.” You can check it out in the official video below, which was produced by Emily Truong and directed by Kevin Clark (Between Friends, Finneas).

Giving us more details on “Heat Of The Sun,” OTR shares,

“I wrote the initial idea while experimenting with some analog synths during lockdown. It wasn’t until my visit to London when JONES was able to add her unique charm that the track transformed into what it is today. It reminds me of the togetherness summer brings.”

You can listen to “Heat Of The Sun” on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and SoundCloud.
