Buzzy Lee announces new album ‘Internal Affairs’ with “Cinderblock”

Buzzy Lee, 
the alias of Los Angeles musician Sasha Spielberg, has announced a new album with an intoxicating lead single. Internal Affairs is releasing March 31 via Future Classic, and follows Spielberg’s 2020 full-length Spoiled Love. The press release notes that the record was largely assembled and recorded over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic.

To announce the album, Buzzy Lee has released “Cinderblock” – a dancey, disco-tinged track that has Spielberg’s hypnotic vocals layering over retro synths. It sort of sounds like Faye Webster if she found a Roland Juno, and bits of it remind me of the early 2000s New York dance scene with an almost-Rapture twist once the chorus kicks in with strings and a chanted, pointed chorus.
