Jesse Gold is a “Happy Lonely Boy” on new single

Date:

It has been three years since Toronto artist Jesse Gold released his debut EP, We’ll Be Fine.  The project explored the shortcoming of love in the 21st century and introduced fans to his rousing pop and R&B sound.  Last year, Jesse released his second EP, Stupid Hours, which contained the breakout hit “One In A Million.”  The track was streamed over five million times and received praise from Ones To Watch, American Songwriter, and Euphoria Magazine, further establishing Jesse as an artist on the rise.  After releasing the incredibly catchy “All Over Again” back in April, Jesse is following up the release with the equally infectious “Happy Lonely Boy.”

Lighthearted and super smooth, “Happy Lonely Boy” recounts the pleasures of flying solo.  Over easy-going R&B rhythms, Jesse sings, “I never wanted to waste my time / Doing shit that I don’t even like” and “I never needed to stand in line / ‘Cause I’m doing just fine,” enjoying his independence.  In the end, Jesse claims, “I’m pulling up to my own party / Invitation just for one,” shamelessly indulging in his lonely ways.  You can check it out below.

Giving us more about the single, Jesse shares,

“One of my favorite things to do is nothing.  Being by myself, with no plans is so comfortable.  ‘Happy Lonely Boy’ is about enjoying that comfort, guilt-free.  No standing in line for bars, spending money, shooting your shot to get rejected.  Just a party for one.”

You can listen to “Happy Lonely Boy” on platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and SoundCloud.
