NASAYA starts a fresh chapter with “CIEL”

Date:

Pulling from genres like jazz, hip-hop, and classic rock, NASAYA is not afraid to incorporate his own influences into the electronic music scene.  In the end, the producer and musician is creating his own signature style, attracting much attention in the process.  With tracks like “Stuck In A Bubble” and “PATTERNS,” NASAYA has received support from names like Ones To Watch and SPIN, and has been featured on BBC Radio 1, Triple J, and Elton John’s Rocket Hour radio show.  Additionally, familiar brands like Amazon Prime, Netflix, and Mercedes have formed deals with NASAYA, further pushing the artist and his extraordinary sound into the world.  After such a successful 2021 with his PIRILAMPO EP and tour with ford, NASAYA is back with a refreshing new single.

On “CIEL,” which is French for “sky,” NASAYA deviates from the pop-focused sound we heard on PIRILAMPO.  Instead of colorful melodies, he gives us skittering synth work that incessantly flutters until all energy has been spent.  When the synth does stop, it is like the sky is opening up overhead, giving way to a more minimalist production.  In these moments, we are able to recharge, immersing ourselves in the spacious sound.  You can check it out below.

About “CIEL,” NASAYA explains,

“‘CIEL’ marks a bit of a departure from music I previously released.  I moved from the US to Paris in 2020, and the change of scenery kind of changed the way I write music and how I wanted this project to evolve.  Also, being stuck at home for these two years, it made sense to write music all by myself.  The track is definitely ‘clubbier’/darker than what I previously released – living in Europe for the first time I started being more influenced by music like garage/breakbeat, jungle, techno etc…

The song can have different meanings.  For me, it captures the melancholic and introspective state of mind that I was feeling at the time.”

You can listen to “CIEL” on platforms like Spotify, SoundCloud, and Apple Music.
