lot of people have been buzzing around Wet Leg for all of 2021, and for good reason. Their debut singles “Chaise Longue” and “Wet Dream” showed off a type of poise and inventiveness that’s virtually unheard of among brand new bands, and they already announced a U.S. run for this month that sold out nearly instantly.

Today, the British duo of Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers have announced their debut album alongside two brand new songs and a run of U.S. tour dates for next year. Wet Leg will be released on April 8th, 2022 via Domino, and the two new songs released today are a blast that is sure to signal one of 2022’s brightest albums to come. “Too Late Now” is familiarly witty as Teasdale explores the modern dystopia that is internet dating apps, while “Oh No” is effectively an 80s film distilled into a neat two and a half minutes. Regarding “Too Late Now”, Teasdale shared the following:

It is about sleepwalking into adulthood. I never imagined that my adult life would look the way it does and I guess this song reflects on some of the pressures and pulls of life. Sometimes I get really inside my head and everything can feel very overwhelming. I think this song is about accepting that life can feel a bit shit from time to time. Maybe don’t indulge that thought too much though. Just take some time for yourself. Take a breath. Have a bath. It might make you feel a bit better.
