ROSIE will go to extremes to get past heartbreak on new single “to get over you”

Date:

Last year, singer-songwriter ROSIE went viral with her emotional breakup ballad “Never the 1.”  Its transparent lyrics, stripped back melodies, and clever wordplay made a lasting impression, attracting 15 million views on TikTok.  Whether fans connected with the song or with ROSIE’s pact to release “100% real” content, they found someone new to relate to and feel safe around.  Continuing her stance on authenticity, ROSIE delivers yet another track that is sure to tap into our emotions in a very real way.

On “to get over you,” ROSIE takes the sentiment of “doing whatever it takes to be with someone” and flips it on its head.  To a playful pop melody, ROSIE sings, “To get over you, I would hike Mount Everest / To get over you, I’d walk through hell and back again,” capturing those earnest feelings that accompany heartbreak.  Her pure vocals match the gentle piano chords in the verses, and adjust to the brighter pop components of the choruses, making “to get over you” a moody, yet sassy, smash.  The pain is palpable, but ROSIE’s ability to turn the negatives into positives in her music make us believe that she will get through this breakup with flying colors.

Speaking about “to get over you,” ROSIE shared that the song “is about the ups and downs of healing from heartbreakAs the fourth track from my concept E.P. about the 5 stages of grief, this song represents the 3rd stage, bargaining.  With the help of my producer, Noah Conrad, we turned a piano ballad into a sad summer bop.”  This single is leading up towards ROSIE’s debut EP, which will be released later this year.
