SonReal releases new song “Bank On Me” with music video

Date:

Following his most recent album The Aaron LPSonReal releases his first new song of 2021 with “Bank On Me,” accompanied with music video. The video reflects on how 2020 seemed a bit lonely and how you can seemingly always count on yourself.

“I wrote this song over Zoom with my producer Trevor Muzzy in my mom’s spare bedroom. I think there’s something about having to be more crafty in COVID times that has made us artists have to dig a bit deeper, and it’s definitely made me push harder creatively,” SonReal tells Complex Canada. “The concept for this video came together over FaceTime with my two best friends, [director] Dane Collison, and [manager] Byron Wilson, and we knew we had something special. We literally couldn’t stop laughing coming up with these scenes. We put months of prep into shooting, and in a place where it rains literally everyday in the winter, Squamish, B.C. gave us two amazing days to shoot in. It’s one of those videos you can’t re-create.”
