How close is the edge of time? Pop-rock duo Rags and Riches takes viewers on a journey with their creative outlook on this concept. The view pans in on two solo dancers in a dim-lit room. The song starts out with a simple, slow beat where lead singer Tanner Whitt brings in the question, “How close is the edge of time?”
The verse builds up to an energetic chorus, panning back and forth between passionate dancing and the two musicians showcasing what they think it means to truly live. “We are all just humans, fight fight fight!“, and with the beat surrounding these words, it truly hits the listener. The song reaches highs and lows, just like life does, along with the choreography moving perfectly with the lyrics, expressing what words can’t. Closing out the song, they include a dynamic guitar solo and a beautiful higher-toned layering of vocals, to leave the song on a positive, radiant note.
The concept of life and truly living is something we all think about at certain times, but Rags and Riches keeps it real with their interpretation, showing that there are ups and downs, but that it’s just part of life. It brings a very positive, motivational energy to the table and I definitely recommend not only listening to this song, but watching the music video, to get the full experience.
