As Laneway Festival in Sydney quickly approaches (2nd of February 2020), here at Melodic Mag we’re interested in highlighting some of the best underrated talents who will be smashing it at the Festival. These are the ones to watch for at Laneway Festival.
Hockey Dad
Australian surf-rock band Hockey Dad from Wollongong will be highlighting their talents once again on the Laneway stage. Influenced by Australian Culture (Surfing, Skating, Good Music and Beer), the two-piece consists of Zach Stephenson on guitar/ vocals and Billy Fleming on drums. No strangers to the stage, the boys have already played some of the largest venues across Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the United States of America.
Stella Donnelly
Welsh-Australian Singer/ Songwriter, Stella Donnelly is heading from Perth all the way to Sydney to hit the Laneway Stage. ARIA Music Award nominee and Triple J Unearthed Artist, Stella’s indie pop voice will provide a unique twist to the day. Already receiving rave reviews for her album, Beware of the Dogs, she’s certainly one to catch at Laneway.
Spacey Jane
Spacey Jane are an Indie Rock group from Perth, with an ever-expanding fanbase. In just a short amount of time, the fo
ur piece have shared the stage with The Jungle Giants, Alex Lahey and British India. I’m certain that Spacey Jane will become a household name in the next few years through the perfect combination of lovely people and great music.
The Chats
Queensland punk rockers The Chats have hit a perfect ‘Aussie-chord’ with their releases ‘Smoko’ and ‘Pub Feed’. Writing songs about their proud Australian Culture, the boys have already received extensive Triple J airplay as well as touring across Australia, New Zealand and The United Kingdom. Without-a-doubt, these talented Aussies are going to create quite a stir at Laneway Festival in Sydney.
