Mac DeMarco is wonderfully weird, so it only makes sense that his performance at the Greek Friday night was equal parts wonderful and weird. DeMarco is just starting the second leg of his North American tour, kicking it off with a couple shows in his now-home of Los Angeles. Friday night, outside, under the harvest moon, DeMarco was joined by his band as well as special guest, comedian (and guitarist, apparently) Nathan Fielder. Never a dull moment, the audience was treated to not only a varied setlist of both old and new songs, but also a few humorous anecdotes, a quick celebration of keyboardist Alec Meenās birthday, and an occasional joke and a kiss (or two) between Mac and Nathan Fielder. For the grand finale, DeMarco performed a drawn out version of āStill Together,ā whipping his shirt off and dancing around stage in a very strange but very Mac Demarco fashion. Perhaps the only person who seemed to enjoy the show more than the audience was Mac himself, who has the ability to make a crowded concert feel more like a polished jam session with a few thousand friends.
