LIVE PHOTOS + REVIEW: Briston Maroney // Houston, TX

Date:

Briston Maroney is a Nashville, TN based artist who recently performed as a SXSW 2019 official artist. I had the pleasure of seeing him a few times at SXSW, and each time he didn’t disappoint. I knew I had to see him when he was in town, so I attended his show with Liz Cooper & The Stampede, as he was the opener. I can safely say that easily, Briston Maroney is one of the most talented acts I have ever seen performed live. His voice is truly phenomenal; so unique and filled with emotion– making it easy to connect with his lyrics and songs. He’s also one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet– seriously, he will kill you with kindness (in a good way, of course).

Playing several new songs, that will be released on an upcoming EP titled Indiana, including a recent release titled “Caroline,” fans were singing the lyrics and enjoying his performance. A majority of his songs are upbeat, interwoven with slow, melodic numbers with more isolated vocals, showing the uniqueness and diversity of his talent. You can tell he has fun when performing, and so do his band members. They consist of Jack Filipovic on the bass, and Noah Pope on the drums, while Briston plays guitar and sings. Their chemistry is undeniable, making he and his band truly an act to witness yourself. He will be joining Wallows on their European tour, and still has several dates left of the Liz Cooper & The Stampede tour. You can check out if he’s playing at a city near you here.
