One EP and a couple of great singles later, Guys On A Bus have finally released their first full length album, Love Brings Out The Worst In Us, and we are digging it. This alt indie rock band from Joplin, MO  is composed of four groovy dudes, Davis Drake (bass), Evan Todd (drums), Nathan Hurley (lead vocal and guitar), and Evan Hurley (yes, they ARE brothers). Since having formed in 2014, the guys have been hard at work, playing shows alongside the likes of, The Band CAMINO, The Wldlfe, and Consumed By Fire.

Now that I’ve introduced you to the band, let’s talk about this absolute banger of an album. Having followed this band on Instagram for awhile, the first time they posted the album teaser video I got the chills and only hoped that the 16 second song clip wouldn’t just be for the teaser but would also be on the album and I was not disappointed in the least when I downloaded the album and realized it was the opening track. From beginning to end, the album truly gave me an out of body experience, which not a lot of albums can do for me.

The band had also released two songs from the album earlier this year  (Bella and Little Problems), which gave me an idea of what I thought the album might sound like and though it was nothing like I expected, I was definitely pleasantly surprised. Each song off of the album is not only unique in it’s own way, but also shows the amount of growth that they’ve accomplished as a band. A lot of the songs on the album have quickly become some of my favorites (I Wait, I’m looking at you) and I have no doubt in my mind that after listening to this album, you’ll find at least one song that you like.

The album as a whole shows how adaptable they are musically, and if there was only one way in which I could describe this album I would describe it as a box of chocolates (yes, this is a Forrest Gump reference), you never know what you’re going to get and though it might be different, it’s all chocolate and equally as good. So go ahead and take a listen. You never know whether you’ll find your next favorite album or even song.
