This past weekend, Imagine Dragons brought their highly anticipated Evolve Tour to the Colonial Life Arena. With a successful run of their latest leg of the Evolve Tour from last year, it made sense why so many fans eagerly waited for doors to open.
Taking the stage while barefoot, Grace Vanderwaal, the opener for the summer leg, started the night with her heavenly voice. Known for her unique voice and her ukulele skills, the young performer started the night without the aid of an instrument. Starting with a fan favorite, Grace’s voice filled the arena as she performed and danced along to “Moonlight.” Captivating the audience throughout her set, Grace made it clear that she is meant for the stage. Only being fourteen, Grace demonstrated how truly talented she is, and that age is only a number. Check out some of images from Grace’s set down below!
After such a captivating set from Grace Vanderwaal, it was time for the moment everyone was waiting for: Imagine Dragons. With loud cheers from the crowd, the band came out running as several lights flashed throughout the arena. With so much excitement, the band started with one of their classics, “Radioactive.” As the audience filled the arena with their screams, the energy hyped up Dan Reynolds, the lead singer, as he ran and jumped throughout the stage. Filled with so much passion, the band showcased their talents as they radiated energy off each other.
Starting the set with such a bang, Dan took the time to inform the audience about how this show was all about inclusiveness: that everyone from all cultures and personalities were free to express themselves, and that they were welcomed with big arms. Demanding equality for everyone, the band began to perform their song, “It’s Time.” A night filled with so much energy, Imagine Dragons brought such a memorable night to Columbia, SC.
