Last week I caught Fatai at the very intimate Eddie’s Attic in Atlanta. Fatai is currently on her Live in The Moment tour.
Let me start by saying that I have always been a huge fan of her music. There is no doubt in my mind that this girl is going to be huge. Her songs Purple and She, which are my two favorites, really show off her vocal range and her talent. She has a powerful and beautiful voice that really leaves you shocked she isn’t already a worldwide superstar.
Seeing her live was truly an experience. Eddie’s Attic is a super tiny venue and her voice filled up the whole entire room. Despite the space being cramped, I felt comfortable that everyone there was friendly because of the environment she created. The performance was personal and lively, with Fatai pausing inbetween each song to thank the audience for coming and to talk about how excited she was to be playing in Atlanta. The singer is originally from Australia, so the show in Atlanta is quite the trek from home! Her positive vibes truly radiated throughout the whole venue and she uplifted the whole crowd with her spirit.
I got a chance to meet with Fatai after the show, and she is the kindest, most down to earth artist you will meet. She greeted fans like old friends and said “remind me what your name is again?” as if she already knew them. In fact, many of them said this wasn’t their first time seeing her, declaring they had been to other cities to see her. It is obvious her fans are dedicated and passionate about her work.
If you have the chance to see Fatai, I highly encourage it!
