For those of you lovely readers and fellow music lovers who are yet to be blessed with the musical talents of Heirlooms, an Australian pop punk band, today is you’re lucky day!

Yesterday Heirlooms announced their Stepping Stones Debut EP release set for the 17th of November along with a new music video, so naturally today is the day Melodic Mag lets you know exactly why you should (or shouldn’t) anticipate this new release!

This two-track EP includes a mixture of musical styles.

The first track, “Top Heavy”, starts off very upbeat with lyrics that are almost inspiring. The instrumentation on this track fades in and out in a way that easily paints visual images in your head as you dance around jamming to this tune!

The second song is entitled “Alive”. This three minute and fourteen second track is arranged almost perfectly. This song starts off quiet and slow but progressively gets a little louder and a little faster leading up to the climax two and a half minutes in. Almost like a storybook or some great American Novel this track leaves you wanting more.

The overall Stepping Stones EP leaves me feeling a little neglected in a sense that there should be more to it!

Reminding myself that EPs are just unfinished albums or soon-to-be-full-length albums, I am pleased with the range of sound shown through just two tracks on the Stepping Stones EP and can’t wait to hear more!
